The Harbin international ice and snow sculpture festival in Harbin, Hei Long Jiang province (northern China, alongside the frozen Song Hua River) showing an Egyptian Sphynx completely carved from ice.
The festival started at January 5th and will last for one month. Apart from the gigantic snowman you see in the picture, there are 5 themes of ice sculptures:
- ice and snow arts
- ice and snow culture
- ice and snow tourism,
- ice and snow sports and
- ice and snow business and trade.
Unlike the 25th Harbin international ice and snow festival, there won’t be a bikini contest this year. In stead more than hundred other events will be held during the Harbin international ice and snow festival.
